SPEN publishes details of Constraint Management Zones (CMZs), flexible capacity needed, and service windows on Piclo. Providers wishing to participate must have eligible assets within these zones and complete company qualification.

Key details

Bidding takes place on Piclo on the 15th of every month (or the next suitable working day). Guide prices are displayed alongside each CMZ.

SPEN uses the SU product (fixed volume of flexibility delivered at predefined times) for their month-ahead procurement. Providers receive dispatch instructions from Piclo via API, before the end of the month prioir to delivery.

Submit half hourly meter data via Piclo every month. Utilisation and availability fees are paid monthly.
